The Fine Dining Chef is responsible for enforcing food quality standards and maintaining an organized, safe, and sanitary work environment. This position requires flexibility with shifts to meet the demands of a dynamic dining service schedule.\n\nIn addition to culinary expertise, the Fine Dining Chef will play a key role in team management by interviewing, hiring, and training staff, as well as motivating and appraising team member performance. The role demands strong leadership skills to schedule work effectively, resolve complaints, and maintain compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements. The Fine Dining Chef also contributes to business operations by assisting management with budget development, financial evaluation, and cost control initiatives. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years experience in high volume or professional kitchen
  • Two years management experience
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days
  • Office skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance and perform all job functions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate advanced cooking skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years of progressively responsible, related experience in high volume, fast-paced, multi station setting or professional classically disciplined kitchen
  • Associate’s degree from accredited culinary school can substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Two years of management experience
  • Ability to successfully achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
  • Office skills including use of standard office equipment and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with purchasing software and labor management software preferred
  • Ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and communicate effectively to groups
  • Ability to work irregular hours including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform all duties in a fast-paced environment including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds with assistance

Job Duties

  • Direct the overall production of food prepared by venue staff and oversee daily operations of the kitchen including facilitation of shift meetings and opening and closing duties
  • Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training team members

  • Develop and implement initiatives to increase sales, control costs, and manage appropriate inventories
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment
  • Assist in ensuring optimal guest satisfaction and timely, positive resolution to guest inquiries and concerns
  • Establish, update, and ensure compliance with departmental internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
