The role of the Starbucks Barista at Food City involves creating the authentic Starbucks experience for shoppers by delivering prompt and courteous service, preparing quality beverages, whole bean coffees, and food products. This position is essential in upholding both Starbucks’ and Food City’s strong commitments to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. The Barista will be responsible for assisting with opening and closing kiosk operations, ensuring quality drink preparation through adherence to recipe and presentation standards, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for customers. This role requires integrity, honesty, and strong knowledge of the Starbucks brand and Food City’s culture and values. Interacting with customers to take orders, provide product information, and apply suggestive selling techniques forms a crucial part of the daily activities, along with processing transactions using the POS system. The Barista will also support the team to achieve store goals, enforce safety and food-handling standards, and uphold company attendance policies by working scheduled shifts on-site. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
  • Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts
  • Experience in food service or coffee making a plus
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service/coffee experience a plus, but not required
  • Learn how to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products
  • Learn the ingredients that go into various products
  • Work with various Starbucks ingredients including various coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
  • Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Job Duties

  • Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to run the best store in town
  • Assist store management team in opening and closing the kiosk operations
  • Ensure we are providing quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, values, and the mission of both Food City and Starbucks
  • Take customer orders, ensure orders are completed in a timely manner, and to the customers satisfaction
  • Prepare, bagging, pouring, and stocking Starbucks products, rotating items to ensure product quality and safety
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow associates
  • Engage with customer, offering product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products
  • Process cash register transactions using POS system
  • Apply problem solving skills to effectively address Barista, Customer, and Business problems
  • Challenge team members to deliver store goals and expected results
  • Ensure team members are consistently operating tools and equipment, while following all safety policies and procedures
  • Enforce company food safety program and food-handling procedures
  • Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies
