Job Requirements
- Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted
- up to six months of similar or related experience preferred
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions with confidence
- basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording
- ability to communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way
- ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy coffee shop environment
- ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift
- ability to handle food safely and maintain clean work areas
- willingness to work night and weekend shifts
- successful completion of pre-employment drug screen

Job Duties
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one
- take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products and answering questions
- prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed throughout your shift
- monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead of daily needs
- handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards at all times
- check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
- run the department register and process payments where applicable
- remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department
- work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer
- maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
- assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
