This opportunity is for the role of a Starbucks Barista within Target’s Food & Beverage team, offering an hourly starting rate of $20.00 USD. As a Starbucks Barista at Target, you will be at the forefront of delivering a premium Starbucks experience to guests, ensuring fresh, quality food and beverages are available and served with care. This position plays a vital role in managing operations tied to food and beverage service including replenishment, maintaining food safety standards, ensuring accurate pricing and promotional signage, and creating an inviting environment for Starbucks guests.

The role demands a mix of customer service excellence, operational competence, and teamwork. You'll be supported by comprehensive training that equips you with the knowledge to execute Starbucks food and beverage processes effectively and to uphold Target's standards of guest satisfaction. Typical responsibilities include greeting guests warmly and engaging with them to fulfill their needs, crafting handcrafted Starbucks beverages to recipe specifications, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the service area, obeying food safety and OSHA guidelines rigorously, and supporting digital order processes such as Drive-Up and order pickup.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in food service or retail preferred
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 44 pounds
Ability to work in varying temperature environments including refrigeration and freezer conditions
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to operate cash registers
Ability to work a physically demanding, fast-paced job
Ability to stand and remain mobile for entire shifts
Compliance with safety policies and procedures
Effective communication skills
Willingness to support a diverse guest and team environment

Job Qualifications

Previous Starbucks or food service experience preferred but not required
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Ability to resolve guest questions promptly
Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting and assisting guests
Help guests find what they need and resolve issues swiftly
Deliver an exceptional fresh and abundant shopping experience
Uphold and maintain Food & Beverage standards
Execute food and beverage processes including deliveries, replenishment, inventory accuracy, cleaning and signing
Support the Starbucks Drive Up process ensuring order accuracy and timeliness
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Starbucks space
Engage guests to meet and exceed Starbucks standards
Produce handcrafted beverages and food according to recipe specifications
Follow all food safety and OSHA guidelines
Complete required cleaning and food safety documentation
Identify and manage damaged, recalled, or expired items
Place store-initiated orders and maintain perishable inventory
Follow sampling best practices
Complete training and certifications related to Starbucks product quality
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
Work safely and report hazards
Support guest services including back-up cashier and order pick-up
Perform other duties as required based on business needs
