We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our Culinary Department. This role is pivotal in supporting the successful operation of the culinary services at our facility. The Senior Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to supervise and manage the preparation and cooking of high-quality food items, contributing significantly to menu development, food presentation, and maintaining high standards of food production. The position also entails supervising hourly associates, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and assisting with inventory and ordering processes. Job Requirements
- Education in culinary arts or relevant certification
- Experience in culinary or kitchen management
- Ability to manage food cost controls and budgets
- Experience with catering and large-scale foodservice operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office
- Willingness to participate in patient satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
Job Qualifications
- A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience
- Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Catering experience
- Experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations
- Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking
- Comprehensive understanding of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, email, and Internet
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account
- Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Produce and execute catering events
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team
- Supervise hourly associates and ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with purchasing to assist with ordering and inventory management
- Participate in patient satisfaction programs and activities
