The Senior Safety Manager role within this dynamic company is a critical leadership position based onsite in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This role comes with a direct hire employment type and offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $115,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience. The Senior Safety Manager will have the responsibility of overseeing safety across a large-scale warehouse and fulfillment environment supporting over 2,000 employees. As a highly visible and impactful role, the position focuses on driving safety strategy, compliance, and culture, ensuring the wellbeing of all team members while enhancing operational performance.

In this role, the Senior Safety Manager will lead a team of safety professionals dedicated to promoting workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Working closely with senior operational leadership and partnering across multiple departments including HR and operations, the manager will develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs. This position demands a hands-on approach, with frequent presence on the warehouse floor to influence change and improve processes in real time.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations. They will analyze safety metrics and trends to identify risk areas and recommend effective mitigation strategies. A key part of the role involves promoting a culture of safety, leading corrective action programs, and maintaining detailed safety documentation to comply with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and industry standards related to Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, and powered industrial truck safety.

Ideal candidates are experienced safety leaders with at least 7 years in progressive safety roles within warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or eCommerce environments. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are required to effectively communicate across the workforce. The role also favors candidates with recognized safety certifications and a proven track record of leading safety transformations in complex operational settings. Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of safety leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, eCommerce, or industrial environments
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
  • Proven experience with Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, and forklift safety programs
  • Ability to lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Experience managing and mentoring safety teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and HR
  • Hands-on approach with presence on warehouse floors
  • Willingness to support multiple shifts
  • Relevant safety certifications preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive safety leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, eCommerce, or industrial environments
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Experience supporting large employee populations within complex operational environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
  • Extensive experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, electrical safety, forklift and powered industrial truck programs, hazard identification and risk mitigation
  • Proven success improving and transforming safety programs, procedures, and policies
  • Experience leading audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Strong leadership, communication, and employee engagement skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) preferred
  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) preferred
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) preferred
  • Experience leading large-scale safety transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing direct reports and developing safety teams
  • Previous experience supporting high-volume distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics operations

Job Duties

  • Lead all safety programs and initiatives across a large warehouse and distribution operation
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Cal/OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout programs, machine guarding standards, electrical safety requirements, and powered industrial truck safety programs
  • Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Analyze safety metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and risk reduction
  • Develop and promote a strong culture of safety throughout the organization
  • Evaluate existing programs and recommend enhancements to improve compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Partner closely with operations, HR, and leadership teams to achieve business objectives while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Lead, coach, and develop safety personnel
  • Manage corrective action programs and ensure timely resolution of safety concerns
  • Maintain safety documentation, compliance records, and regulatory reporting
  • Support operational needs across multiple shifts as required
