The role in focus is that of a Senior Safety Manager located in the Charlotte, NC region, positioned within Messer's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Department. This senior role is vital in supporting Messer's projects and personnel through comprehensive safety inspections, project-specific safety planning, employee training initiatives, and other essential safety and health services. The role demands hands-on involvement with project teams to promote a zero-injury culture, strategically plan for project risks based on schedules, develop and manage action plans to enhance regional safety performance, and maintain a consistent, proactive presence on active projects. Responsibilities include conducting pre-construction safety meetings, contractor safety orientations, weekly site safety inspections, and thorough accident or incident investigations. The Senior Safety Manager is also instrumental in developing and implementing safety programs and training to ensure company-wide consistency in safety policies and procedures.

Further duties involve reviewing contractor pre-qualifications and site-specific safety plans to assure compliance with Messer's standards and regulatory requirements.
