The company oversees various aspects of the Pokemon franchise, including brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokemon Trading Card Game, animated TV series, home entertainment, and the official Pokemon website. Since launching in Japan in 1996, Pokemon has grown into one of the most beloved children’s entertainment properties worldwide, captivating millions of fans with its diverse multimedia offerings and engaging community experiences. Pokemon Company International’s commitment to quality, innovation, and global reach has made it a leader in the entertainment industry.

They are currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Event Security & Safety, a senior leadership role focused on defining and executing the strategy surrounding security and safety across the company’s global event portfolio. This position is critical to ensuring the safety and security of attendees, staff, and partners at high-profile events worldwide. The Sr. Manager will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with external vendors across multiple markets including North America, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, and Asia for the largest events such as the World Championships. The role requires approximately 20 percent travel, both domestic and international, highlighting its dynamic nature and global focus.

As a strategic leader, the Sr. Manager, Event Security & Safety will develop and maintain a comprehensive security and safety roadmap aligned with long-term business goals and scalable growth plans. They will drive the evolution of event security by establishing future processes, on-site operations, and defining responsibilities between internal teams and external partners. This role demands expertise in analyzing security practices to incorporate new technologies and optimize operations for maximum effectiveness.

The position also involves significant team leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and managing a growing team of security professionals. The manager will be expected to create and implement training programs and support documentation while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. The Sr. Manager will provide hands-on leadership at the company’s largest consumer events, directing security operations and coordinating with government agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders to meet diverse security needs.

Collaboration is a key element of this role. It requires partnering with multiple internal teams—such as event operations, production, programming, retail, marketing, legal, policy, and technology—to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive security approach tailored to the unique requirements of each event. The Sr. Manager will use data-driven insights and continuous improvement strategies to enhance safety protocols and respond rapidly to operational issues through specialized response teams.

Ideal candidates bring over a decade of relevant professional experience, including more than five years in people management roles, underpinned by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field or corresponding professional equivalency. Proven success in leading global event security operations, including threat analysis, crisis management, crowd control, VIP protection, vendor coordination, and government agency integration is essential. The role demands excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills, with a strategic mindset oriented towards innovation and quality.

The base salary range for this role is between $141,000 to $254,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The company offers a hybrid working environment and a strong benefits package including employer-paid healthcare premiums, paid family leave, 401k/pension contributions, life insurance, income protection insurance, fitness reimbursement, commuter benefits, and professional development opportunities. The Pokemon Company International values inclusion and provides accommodations for applicants during the hiring process.
