The Sr. Event Manager role is a pivotal position within the newly established Austin office, marking a significant milestone as the company's footprint expands in the United States. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company and its US-based clients, ensuring seamless communication, alignment with clients' expectations, and the successful execution of high-impact events across the US market. The Sr. Event Manager will be entrusted with overseeing complex and large-scale events, managing a medium to large project team to ensure all work meets client objectives while upholding the company’s creative vision, exceptional quality standards, and strategic goals. Beyond project delivery, this role is central to strengthening and expanding client relationships within the US, providing valuable local insights and tailored event solutions that embody a comprehensive understanding of the regional market.
Collaboration with clients, suppliers, and internal teams will be a daily undertaking, with a sharp focus on championing innovation, sustainability, and excellence. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of event management experience
- Proven ability to manage large and complex events
- Experience with budget management and financial controls
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead teams and support team development
- Proficiency in event management platforms
- Willingness to work onsite in Austin, Texas
- Ability to travel as necessary
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, business or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, preferably in large-scale event environments
- Proven track record of managing complex events and leading project teams
- Strong client relationship management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency with event management software such as Cvent
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
Job Duties
- Manage and lead medium to large-scale events
- Support company’s business expansion in the US by strengthening presence and unlocking growth opportunities
- Provide local insights and tailored event solutions to US clients
- Manage event enquiries, prepare proposals and attend presentations and pitches
- Oversee project teams including Project Executives and freelancers for event delivery
- Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare comprehensive reports
- Manage client accounts and build strong partnerships
- Collaborate with clients and suppliers for event logistics and supplier management
- Source and manage venues, hotels, and other suppliers
- Handle financial management including budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliation
- Develop and maintain best business practices and continuous process improvements
- Attend and contribute to operational and senior meetings
