Job Description
Subway Headquarters is the central hub of one of the world's most renowned quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands, Subway. Known globally for its fresh and customizable sandwiches, Subway supports thousands of franchisees across numerous countries, providing them with strategic leadership, operational assistance, and innovative solutions to grow their businesses efficiently. The company prides itself on a dynamic work environment where innovation, accountability, and collaboration drive success. With a strong focus on franchisee profitability and brand strength, Subway is dedicated to creating long-term value in the highly competitive fast-food industry. The organization is committed to nurturing a culture where employees are empowered to shape their work, delivering impactful decisions that resonate throughout the global network of franchises. Subway encourages professionals who are energetic, accountable, and proactive to join their team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance results.
The Senior Director, Product - Menu, is a critical leadership role at Subway. This role goes beyond traditional product management and requires the stewardship of a complex and evolving menu system that supports thousands of franchise operators worldwide. Unlike a simple spreadsheet, the menu is a multi-dimensional product integrating pricing, availability, digital channels, competitor analysis, limited-time offers, and third-party delivery platforms. As the Senior Director of Product, you will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Menu Management across both franchise and corporate channels. You will lead innovations including AI-driven automation and Menu Data Services that empower operators to price, promote, and update their menus in real-time and at scale. This role demands a blend of strategic thinking, technical acumen, and cross-functional leadership across teams in product, engineering, marketing, and operations.
You will oversee the development and operation of the menu availability and pricing systems, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to local restaurant needs globally. Key responsibilities include managing offer creation pipelines, contractor team operations, and pioneering intelligent automation for menu workflows. The role also involves direct leadership and mentoring of a product and contractor team, fostering professional growth and scaling the product function to meet evolving business demands.
Subway values a product mindset that focuses on systems, outcomes, and delivering user value instead of merely managing features or tasks. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience leading product teams, with a background in startup or high-tech environments where fast decision-making and innovation under uncertainty are valued. Familiarity with AI tools and automation will be critical as Subway embraces technological advancements to streamline operations. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role operates at the intersection of multiple departments and requires influencing without formal authority. While experience in QSR or restaurant technology is advantageous, it is not mandatory; a strong product leadership background is the priority.
This position includes up to 15 percent travel to support business needs and reports to senior leadership. The Senior Director Product - Menu will be crucial in developing Subway's next generation of menu technology and innovation, driving growth and profitability for franchisees worldwide while reinforcing Subway's position as a global leader in fast casual dining.
