The Chef Manager Senior role at Morrison Living is a pivotal position responsible for managing the back of the house operations within a senior living community’s food service department. This role involves overseeing all aspects of culinary management, including menu development, inventory control, purchasing, labor, and food cost management to ensure both quality standards and financial goals are met. The Chef Manager Senior also plays an essential role in maintaining compliance with sanitation and safety regulations while leading and developing the culinary team through hiring, coaching, counseling, and training initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Dining and Executive Chef, this position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing day-to-day operations effectively while driving innovation and excellence in culinary programming. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- three years progressive culinary management experience
- ability to maintain positive attitude under pressure
- knowledge of HACCP controls
- experience with purchasing, food storage, and sanitation
- experience with P&L and financial reporting
- knowledge of budgets, labor costs, and inventory controls
- strong leadership and coaching skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
Job Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts preferred or equivalent professional experience
- three years of progressive culinary management experience
- positive attitude under pressure and ability to motivate team
- knowledge of HACCP controls and proper food storage and use
- experience in purchasing, food storage, and sanitation
- P&L and financial reporting experience
- knowledge of budgets, labor costs, and inventory controls
- strong leadership, coaching, and training skills
- proficient in Microsoft Office and POS
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus
Job Duties
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws
