The Bartender role at Sports & Social Orlando is integral to delivering this unique guest experience. This position requires an enthusiastic, outgoing, and fun individual who can maintain professionalism while entertaining guests and delivering exceptional service. The bartender will be responsible for mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, bottled or draft beer, and specialty drinks following proper recipes and company standards. The role demands excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests, co-workers, and management, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable visit for patrons. In addition to preparing drinks, the bartender will promote current food and beverage specials, check guest IDs to comply with legal age requirements, and accurately handle sales transactions and cash tips as per company policies.

As a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment within an entertainment venue, bartenders at Sports & Social Orlando must be knowledgeable about different liquor brands, beer varieties, wines, champagnes, and appropriate glassware and garnishments. Formal bartending training is preferred, and candidates should possess relevant certifications such as alcohol awareness or food handler permits in compliance with state or local regulations. The job may require working nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the busiest times for guest gatherings and sporting events.

Physical stamina is essential for this role, as bartenders will frequently handle and lift heavy items such as bottles, boxes, and barware, along with moving efficiently throughout the bar and kitchen areas. Tasks also include side work to maintain cleanliness and order behind the bar, ensuring a professional and inviting setting for guests. Job Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years experience in bartending at high volume bars and/or nightclubs
  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local or state government
  • Ability to handle, carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely
  • Ability to handle food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years experience with bartending at high volume bars and/or nightclubs
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments
  • Formal bartending training preferred
  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently

Job Duties

  • Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism
  • Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service
  • Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests
  • Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipe
  • Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or from guests
  • Complete all side work as assigned
  • Be well-versed in the products in order to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items
  • Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption
  • Present and encourage current promotions to guests
  • Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guest
  • Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies and procedures
