The role of Specialty Nutrition Systems, NICU Specialist within Avanos Medical is a critical frontline sales position within their Mountain West territory, covering Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Northern California, and Northern Nevada. This position focuses on representing and selling Avanos' Digestive Health-NeoMed product line to healthcare facilities, primarily targeting acute care and alternate care markets such as NICU, PICU, pharmacy, infection control, and supply chain departments within hospitals. The NICU Specialist is responsible for understanding and communicating the technical and clinical advantages of the entire NeoMed product range, which includes neonatal and pediatric enteral feeding systems, enteral feeding tubes and accessories, feeding syringes and pumps, oral and enteral pharmacy syringes, oral care kits, colostrum transfer lids, catheterization trays, and urinary kits.

The key objective for the NICU Specialist is to drive year-over-year sales growth by effectively positioning Avanos' products based on a thorough understanding of the clinical and financial value proposition. The role requires engaging multiple healthcare stakeholders such as NICU managers, nurse educators, neonatologists, pharmacists, and supply chain managers to build and sustain strong sales relationships. The NICU Specialist must possess solid sales acumen, clinical knowledge, and excellent communication skills to present product benefits, conduct clinical presentations, negotiate contracts, manage pricing strategies, and forecast sales accurately. This role is also pivotal in implementing regional sales strategies, managing territory budgets, and collaborating internally with sales management and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

This position requires a commitment to frequent travel by car, comfort working within hospital environments, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Avanos expects NICU Specialists to maintain professional growth continuously and demonstrate a tactfully aggressive sales approach. The role offers an anticipated base salary range between $70,000 and $130,000, supplemented by an attractive incentive-based compensation program along with comprehensive benefits from day one. Job Duties

  • Sales positioning, analysis, and in-service implementation of all AVANOS DH-NeoMed product categories leading to year-on-year sales increases as per the AVANOS DH sales plan
  • The development and implementation of strong business value selling skills and overall AVANOS DH-NeoMed sales acumen
  • Developing and maintaining expertise across the entire range of AVANOS DH-NeoMed products and service platforms
  • Tactical implementation of selling and business activities developed and implemented by the sales region to meet sales objectives
  • Developing and maintaining high-gain sales relationships with multiple decision makers and influencers within assigned accounts or markets
  • Development and implementation of contract and price negotiations/contract management with desired outcomes of obtaining committed business at the highest margins possible
  • Effective collaboration with sales management, internal partners/stakeholders, Standard of Care Specialist, and customers
  • Effective utilization of AVANOS DH-NeoMed sales and marketing resources necessary to meet objectives
  • Effective territory budget management and utilization of AVANOS DH sales support resources, per compliance policy
  • Active participation with the Region Manager in the strategic and tactical planning processes
