Job Description

FIFA World Cup 2026 is an upcoming landmark international football tournament that will be hosted by three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams, expanding the scope and scale of what is already the world's most watched sporting event. This expansion introduces new opportunities for fan engagement, commercial partnerships, and global reach. FIFA, the governing body for world football, is responsible for the organization and delivery of this tournament, ensuring a world-class experience for players, spectators, and stakeholders alike.

As part of the monumental effort, the FIFA26 Commercial Operations team is hiring a Specialist for Commercial Operations based in the New York/New Jersey region. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Commercial Operations, the Commercial Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in delivering best-in-class design solutions and marketing initiatives that support the FIFA World Cup 2026 activities. This fixed-term, full-time role will be primarily onsite, requiring a proactive and collaborative approach to executing marketing, promotional activities, and operational duties across a variety of projects.

The Specialist will engage across multiple functional areas within Commercial Operations including Marketing, Promotions, Host City Commercial Operations, Licensing & Retail, and the FIFA Fan Festival. Responsibilities will span assisting in the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, print, social media); managing campaign calendars to ensure timely delivery; and coordinating ancillary event marketing as part of the larger Host City and tournament activation plans. The specialist will also be involved in event planning such as product launches, webinars, trade shows, and promotional events related to the FIFA brand.

The role requires logistical oversight including venue bookings, vendor coordination, and onsite setup for events and marketing activations. The Specialist will support local legs of the iconic Trophy Tours through project planning and on-site execution. A key duty will be ensuring that FIFA's intellectual property rights and assets are leveraged correctly in partnership with FIFA functional teams and Host Committees to maximize auxiliary event and revenue opportunities.

Additionally, the Specialist will manage premium marketing items in collaboration with vendors, assist in licensed merchandise campaigns, and work closely with media outlets to guarantee accurate advertisement placements. Data-driven reporting is a pivotal aspect of the role; collecting campaign performance metrics, tracking return on investment (ROI), and delivering insights to senior management will help continuously improve operational outcomes.

The role demands managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clarity of priorities and meeting stakeholder expectations effectively. Successful candidates will possess a passion for sports and entertainment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work within an international, multi-cultural organization.

In return, FIFA offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $90,000 based in New York, reflecting the importance and responsibilities of the position. This salary is set in accordance with New York's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act and is subject to candidate qualifications, experience, and the specific business needs of FIFA 26. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for professionals to contribute to a historic sporting event that will captivate the world and create memorable experiences for millions of fans globally.
