Job Description
Jeff Ellis Management, LLC, operates two premier aquatic facilities in North Miami: Sole Mia Lagoon and Tidal Cove Waterpark. These state-of-the-art water parks are designed to offer an exhilarating and safe experience for visitors of all ages. Both facilities invest heavily in advanced safety protocols and guest-centered services to maintain a welcoming environment where families and individuals can enjoy the waterpark attractions with peace of mind. With vibrant water attractions, amenities, and a dedicated staff committed to top-tier service, both Sole Mia Lagoon and Tidal Cove Waterpark have earned recognition as trusted recreational destinations in the community.
Currently, Jeff Ellis Management, LLC is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their lifeguard staff at these two facilities. This opportunity is ideal for a variety of candidates including high school and college students, teachers, retirees, stay-at-home partners, or anyone eager to make a positive impact through safety and service. The lifeguard position is designed to be inclusive of individuals without prior lifeguard experience, as comprehensive training is provided upon hiring. However, candidates must possess essential swimming skills to maintain safety standards.
The role requires working shifts from Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Fridays from 9 AM to 6 PM. Lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining a vigilant watch over guests and swimmers to enforce safety rules and ensure the well-being of everyone in the aquatic zones. They will apply the “10/20 Protection Rule,” constantly scanning the water to identify and respond rapidly to any distress or emergency situations. Lifeguards are also expected to render aid in rescuing distressed swimmers and provide first aid or emergency care as needed. Additionally, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere aligns with the company’s commitment to excellent customer service, making the visitor experience enjoyable and secure.
Candidates should be at least 15 years of age with the physical ability to perform essential duties including swimming 200 yards continuously using the front crawl and/or breaststroke, treading water, and recovering a 10-pound weight from the pool’s bottom. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, a positive attitude, and a team-oriented mindset are key qualifications for success in this role.
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $16.00 to $17.50. In addition to the rewarding experience of working in an aquatic recreation environment, benefits include a referral program that rewards staff for recommending qualified candidates. The work location is in person at the North Miami facilities, providing an engaging atmosphere and opportunities for growth within the Jeff Ellis Management team.
