Job Description
EMRG Media is a premier full-service event planning, marketing, and production firm located in the heart of New York City. Specializing in a wide variety of events such as corporate functions, product launches, store openings, celebrity events, holiday parties, fundraisers, and social celebrations, EMRG Media offers comprehensive support throughout the entire event lifecycle. The company’s expertise encompasses venue selection, production, décor, design, florals, staffing, catering, entertainment, marketing, setup and breakdown, and budget management. Through this holistic approach, EMRG Media ensures that each event is flawlessly executed, tailored to client needs, and memorable for all attendees.
One of the signature events produced by EMRG Media is The Event Planner Expo, recognized as the largest trade show in the events and hospitality industry. Drawing over 3,500 event professionals annually, this expo features top vendors, venues, and strategic partners from across the sector. Designed to foster networking opportunities and support business growth, The Event Planner Expo has become a critical platform for industry professionals to connect, collaborate, and discover new trends and solutions.
The Special Events and Marketing Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY, offering a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually, complemented by performance and holiday bonuses. This role is integral to the smooth planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse array of events, including client-specific projects and The Event Planner Expo. The assistant will be deeply involved in managing event logistics, maintaining positive client and vendor relationships, coordinating venue activities, handling contracts and banquet event orders (BEO's), managing guest lists, and overseeing on-site setup and breakdown processes.
Additionally, the assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the team with inquiries, sales leads, follow-ups, and maintaining accurate records through Google spreadsheets and various reporting tools. Providing responsive and professional customer service to clients, partners, and guests is vital. The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and strong organizational capabilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Candidates should possess familiarity with office software, social media platforms, and basic digital marketing tools, which will empower them to contribute meaningfully to marketing activities and client engagement strategies. The role also demands flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary to accommodate event schedules, making it well-suited for self-motivated individuals passionate about events, hospitality, and marketing. Prior experience in these fields is preferred, and an associate or bachelor's degree in a related area is advantageous. This opportunity at EMRG Media offers a dynamic work environment where creativity, teamwork, and client satisfaction are highly valued, providing an excellent foundation for career growth within the events and marketing industry.
