Dominican Village, located in Amityville, New York, is a respected Independent & Assisted Living community dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and vibrant environment for seniors. This charming community prides itself on a high standard of care and service, ensuring that residents experience comfort, dignity, and an excellent quality of life. The opportunity being presented is for an experienced Sous Chef at Dominican Village. This role is integral to the daily culinary operations supporting the Executive Chef in a dynamic kitchen setting focused on providing nutritious, appealing meals for the resident community. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour, reflecting the value placed on culinary expertise and leadership within this senior living environment. The Sous Chef will take an active role in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with food safety protocols, assisting in menu planning, and maintaining high culinary standards. The role demands a candidate who not only brings strong culinary skills but who is also passionate about creating meals that meet specific dietary guidelines pertinent to seniors' health and wellness.

Dominican Village places significant emphasis on quality, consistency, and presentation of meals—all critical elements that the Sous Chef will help uphold. The position also requires active participation in inventory management, ordering supplies, and supporting special events and community dining programs. The culinary environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, requiring the Sous Chef to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication capabilities. A background in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality dining is considered an advantage, complementing the need for knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate will have over two years of commercial kitchen experience, preferably with prior leadership roles such as Sous Chef. Culinary training or certification is strongly preferred to meet the high standards of this role. Dominican Village is part of Metz Culinary Management, a rapidly growing company that values leadership, creativity, and a commitment to food, service, and team development. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional to grow within a company dedicated to fostering personal growth, enriching career pathways, and promoting a culture of excellence and fun. The unique environment of a senior living community enriches the culinary responsibilities with purpose and service, making this a meaningful and rewarding career opportunity for those passionate about culinary arts and senior care.
