Job Description
The Springs Living is a distinguished senior living community committed to transforming how seniors experience the later stages of their lives. Known for its emphasis on exceptional service, the company strives to create a living environment where residents feel valued, cared for, and engaged. At The Springs at Murrayhill, this philosophy extends to every aspect of community life, including dining. Recognizing that food is a vital part of residents' quality of life, The Springs emphasizes high culinary standards and personal attention to ensure a satisfying dining experience.
The Springs at Murrayhill is currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their culinary team. This full-time position demands a professional who can bring not only strong culinary skills but also a warm and professional presence to the kitchen. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director, assisting in maintaining consistent execution of menu items and helping cultivate a positive kitchen culture. The role requires availability on both weekdays and weekends, highlighting the importance of flexibility and a team-oriented work ethic.
In this role, the Sous Chef will be instrumental in supporting the dining team as they deliver high-quality, beautifully presented meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents. The candidate will ensure adherence to The Springs Living’s menus, recipes, and portion control standards, while also maintaining strict compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. This individual will be expected to promptly resolve any resident dining concerns, reflecting the community's dedication to exceptional customer service.
Beyond food preparation, the Sous Chef will oversee proper food storage, labeling, and inventory standards to minimize waste and maintain kitchen efficiency. Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment is also a top priority, with the Sous Chef leading cleaning efforts and ensuring all equipment and surfaces meet sanitation standards. Additionally, this leadership role includes supervising food service team members during the absence of the Food & Beverage Director and assisting with inventory management and food ordering.
This opportunity is ideal for a culinary professional who values teamwork, quality, and resident satisfaction and who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Springs at Murrayhill offers a supportive workplace with opportunities for career growth and professional development, including leadership training and coaching. This role is a perfect fit for someone passionate about elevating the senior dining experience through culinary excellence and personalized service.
