Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Previous experience in dietary department preferred
  • Ability to prepare and cook large quantities of food
  • Knowledge of special diets and cooking requirements
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation regulations
  • Capable of supervising kitchen staff and managing kitchen operations
  • Able to work scheduled shifts including 11:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstration of core values including love, kindness, honesty, goodness, fairness, and respect
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Previous experience in a dietary department of a health care facility preferred
  • Proficient in preparing and cooking large quantities of food
  • Knowledgeable about special diets, seasoning, cooking times, and temperature control
  • Ability to estimate food quantities and minimize waste
  • Understanding of safety and sanitation requirements in food service

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, season, and serve nutritious and balanced meals including meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruit, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Estimate quantities of food required to limit waste and utilize leftovers
  • Supervise multiple kitchen operations and coordinate with up to 45 team members including cooks, dishwashers, apprentices, and serving staff
  • Take on Executive Chef duties in their absence including menu planning, scheduling, and product ordering
  • Monitor food preparation and storage to ensure county and state regulations are met
  • Maintain high standards of meal presentation and resident satisfaction
