We are currently seeking a talented Part-Time Sous Chef to join our dynamic Gourmet Kitchen Team at Uncle Giuseppe's in North Babylon. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen's daily operations by acting as a trusted right hand to the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in leading the culinary team, ensuring the highest standards are met throughout food preparation, production, and presentation. As a Part-Time Sous Chef at Uncle Giuseppe's, your responsibilities include overseeing daily production processes, managing kitchen inventory and ingredient ordering, and coordinating catering orders with precision. You will lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain consistency and uphold exceptional food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols. The role demands excellent communication and time management skills, as you will work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service. You will also step up as kitchen lead when the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager is unavailable, showcasing your ability to manage operations independently and sustain smooth kitchen workflow.
This position requires someone with at least two years of experience in a supervisory culinary role, preferably in retail or catering environments. A culinary degree or equivalent practical experience is necessary to thrive in this vibrant team environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of commercial food production, portion control, and the ability to adapt recipes for dietary restrictions and allergens. ServSafe certification is expected or must be obtained promptly.
