As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to deliver outstanding culinary experiences by overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, and driving innovation in menu development. The role requires strong leadership skills to conduct daily lineups, manage cleaning and cooking schedules, and maintain an efficient operational flow. You will play a crucial role in training and hiring processes, ensuring that the team upholds the company's commitment to a strong work ethic and positive culture.

In addition to managing inventory and procurement, the Sous Chef is responsible for enforcing restaurant safety protocols, including hazard control points, sanitary food handling, and adherence to health regulations, acting as the safety manager for the back-of-house team. Creativity and collaboration are key components of this role as you will partner with the Executive Chef to design weekly featured menus, private event menus, and special event offerings while incorporating innovative ways to pair craft beer with menu items during seasonal and limited-release beer events. This position demands a clear communicator able to coordinate between kitchen staff, managers, and dining employees effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of restaurant industry experience
  • Serve Safe certified
  • Strong knowledge of craft beer and/or serious interest in understanding and learning about methods of using beer in cooking and food pairings
  • Clear communicator when working with managers, kitchen and dining room employees and staff
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to hold a flexible work schedule and work in a fast-paced environment
