This position, Sous Chef, is a critical role within Hyatt’s culinary operations, specifically focusing on banquet kitchen management. The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to uphold and enhance quality standards for food preparation and service. This role demands someone who can oversee daily kitchen functions efficiently, provide clear support to the culinary team, and help deliver a positive and memorable guest experience through culinary excellence. The Sous Chef is also expected to step up and manage the entire kitchen operation in the absence of senior culinary leaders, demonstrating leadership skills and operational expertise.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 2 years culinary experience in a kitchen environment
- proven leadership and management skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong communication skills
- ability to work under pressure
- knowledge of food safety regulations

Job Duties
- Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
- assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments
- supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
- plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions
- manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
- may manage other key culinary leadership roles including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs
- lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
- monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
- ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
