Job Description

Culinary Khancepts is a diverse multi-concept restaurant and entertainment group with locations in Texas and Illinois. The role available is for a Sous Chef who will play a critical role in supporting the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating service execution, prep production, and staffing to ensure each shift runs smoothly and efficiently. The Sous Chef must maintain consistency in quality and presentation of all menu items by enforcing recipes, portion control, and plating standards. This role also requires strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health codes to uphold the highest standards within the kitchen environment. The Sous Chef will manage inventory, ordering, and food storage to maintain accurate pars, control waste, and ensure product freshness. Additionally, this position involves leading, training, and motivating kitchen staff through effective coaching, clear expectations, and accountability. The Sous Chef will enforce an organized and efficient kitchen that meets both company and health department standards, especially monitoring food quality, ticket times, and service flow during peak periods.

This role demands a candidate with at least two years of experience in a similar kitchen leadership position, such as Sous Chef, with a proven track record of supervising line cooks, prep teams, and managing service execution. Valid Food Handler Certification and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Certification are required. The ideal candidate will be proficient with inventory management, ordering systems, waste reduction techniques, and food and labor cost controls. Experience with kitchen management and operational systems including inventory platforms, scheduling tools, and standard business applications is also essential. Given the physical demands of the position, candidates should be capable of performing various physical tasks such as lifting up to 45 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years in a Sous Chef or similar kitchen leadership role, with experience supervising line cooks, prep teams, and service execution

Job Duties
