Job Requirements

  • Certification or college degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Minimum three years experience as a chef
  • Maintains current food services sanitation certificate
  • ServeSafe certified
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Willingness to engage with residents during meals
  • Compliance with health and safety standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Lead daily food production and preparation ensuring quality standards
  • Ensure visually appealing food presentation with creativity and proper plating
  • Maintain portion control and cost-effectiveness within budgeted per resident day
  • Engage actively with residents during meal service to enhance dining experience
  • Provide leadership in food preparation and hygiene standards in absence of Executive Chef III
  • Support kitchen operations including staff supervision, inventory, and ordering
  • Collaborate on special events and banquets involving food service
  • Maintain records of food and equipment temperatures and cleaning checklists
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Promote resident interaction and customer engagement during meals
  • Assist in managing food costs, waste reduction, and labor control
  • Mentor kitchen staff and support continuous skill development
  • Participate in training and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
