Job Requirements

Must be eighteen years of age
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Prefer six months experience working in a restaurant or similar environment as a cook
Able to safely operate standard cooking equipment and utensils
Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs
Able to operate standard office equipment including fax machine, copier, telephone
Must pass criminal background check and health screening tests including physical and TB tests
Able to work with seniors and cognitively impaired individuals
Must comply with COVID-19 health and safety protocols
Able to adapt, respond to change, and prioritize tasks
Able to follow instructions and apply common sense

Knowledge of or ability to learn assisted living and dementia care theories and practices
Able to work patiently with seniors and cognitively impaired individuals
Able to adapt and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks
Able to follow written or oral instructions and apply common sense
Must pass criminal background check and health screening including physical and TB tests
Must comply with COVID-19 related health and safety protocols

Job Duties

Ensure the dining experience is of high quality including menu selection, meal preparation, meal presentation, food taste, and meal service
Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of all meals including special meals and events
Prepare and serve food following sanitary regulations and property policies
Develop and implement culinary procedures for food readiness and temperature control
Follow menu plans and assist in determining food quality and quantity
Maintain control over meal portions and food consistency to reduce waste
Act as Department Manager in the absence of Culinary Services Director with staffing and supervision
Assist in purchasing, inventory, and storage of food and supplies
Ensure sanitary work environment and proper food storage
Order food within budget and maintain accurate inventories
Visit residents to tailor Culinary Services Program to their preferences
