Job Description

Glenaire, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with a mission to honor God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of those they serve, is seeking a Sous Chef to assist in their Culinary department. This position is responsible for ensuring high quality standards in every item leaving the kitchen, catering to discerning mature individuals with a healthy palate and a love for comfort food and new dishes.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience within a food service operation required
  • Serve Safe Certification within the last 3 years required. Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends. Supervisory experience with kitchen staff including cooks, prep cooks, and utility staff. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain quality assurance. Knowledge of menu production, teamwork development, and hospitality. Strong understanding of sanitation and food handling regulations. Availability to work on weekends and holidays. Experience in coordinating training schedules, staff hiring, and operational budget management. Employee counseling and evaluation skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and good communication within the team.
