The location for this position is the Amex Lounge at 2333 South International Parkway, Dallas, TX, a premier venue that caters to travelers seeking premium hospitality experiences. This full-time Sous Chef role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic culinary team responsible for delivering high-quality food preparation and service in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. The work schedule is full time with varying days from 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm, aligning with the lounge's operational needs.

As a Sous Chef at Amex Lounge, you will be an integral part of the kitchen leadership, assisting the Executive Chef in all culinary operations. The role involves preparing food according to approved recipes and production standards, managing the kitchen team, and ensuring food safety and quality standards are consistently met. Responsibilities also include supervising cooks and other food-service associates, coordinating kitchen activities to meet production deadlines, and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment. You will be expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of menu items, interact positively with customers to resolve any complaints, and keep track of inventory, product consumption, and waste management.

This position requires a minimum of three years of culinary experience, reflecting the need for strong cooking skills, leadership ability, and knowledge of food safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • Previous three years of culinary experience
  • Ability to work full time with varying days and shifts from 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Help the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods
  • Coordinate activities of cooks and other food-service associates
  • Assume responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the Executive Chef's absence
  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Relay relevant information directly to supervisor
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Track product production, consumption and waste
  • Inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Perform other duties as assigned
