Located at UHG - 2720 N Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, NV, Eurest is currently seeking a full-time Sous Chef to join its dynamic culinary team. This full-time position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, with hours that may vary, offering stability and the opportunity to grow professionally within a supportive and fast-paced environment. As a Sous Chef at Eurest, you will play a critical role in supporting the Executive Chef by preparing and cooking foods according to approved recipes and production standards. You will help coordinate the activities of cooks and other food-service associates while taking responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence. This position demands a passion for food preparation, keen organizational skills, and the ability to manage and supervise foodservice associates effectively. You will be involved in scheduling, training, counseling, payroll activities, and ensuring that safety and sanitation standards are strictly adhered to. Your role will also include interacting with customers to resolve issues amicably and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. The Sous Chef will manage inventory, monitor deliveries, and track product consumption and waste, ensuring operational efficiency.

Job Duties

  • Help executive chef prepare and cook foods
  • coordinate activities of cooks and other food-service associates
  • assume responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of executive chef
  • cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate
  • store food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • relay relevant information directly to supervisor
  • demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
  • keep up with peak production and service hours
  • monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • track product production, consumption and waste
  • inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • perform other duties as assigned
