Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day
- Capacity to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- Availability to work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor event support
- Must pass criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in senior housing or related culinary field preferred
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Completed formal culinary, food service, or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory or management experience
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to send, receive, and forward email communications
Job Duties
- Ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
- Supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service to ensure cleanliness and sanitation
- Lead the culinary team in day-to-day operations through engagement, coaching, and accountability
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards in compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory and order supplies efficiently to avoid waste
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold quality and service standards
- Collaborate with management and support staff to coordinate meal services and special events
