Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day
  • Capacity to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • Availability to work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor event support
  • Must pass criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in senior housing or related culinary field preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Completed formal culinary, food service, or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory or management experience
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to send, receive, and forward email communications

Job Duties

  • Ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
  • Supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service to ensure cleanliness and sanitation
  • Lead the culinary team in day-to-day operations through engagement, coaching, and accountability
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards in compliance with health regulations
  • Manage inventory and order supplies efficiently to avoid waste
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold quality and service standards
  • Collaborate with management and support staff to coordinate meal services and special events
