Job Requirements

  • Bilingual (Cantonese and English)
  • Must be able to read and write Chinese
  • Have experience with both Asian and Western cooking
  • Willingness to work Thursday through Monday schedule
  • Ability to meet health and safety standards
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Willingness to undergo required health tests

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a cook or line/prep cook
  • Preferred experience as a sous chef
  • Preferred experience managing food inventory
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Food preparation and production experience required
  • Ability to meet all health requirements
  • Must be willing to take 2-step TB test

Job Duties

  • Preparing meals
  • Supports a disciplined environment and provides supervision in the absence of the Culinary Services Director
  • Manages food inventory appropriately and sets up work areas/stations with all necessary supplies in advance of meal service
  • Performs portion control and minimizes waste to keep cost within forecasted ranges for recipes
  • Understands and maintains all necessary documentation, including but not limited to, time/temperature logs, menus, invoices, etc.
  • Upholding cleanliness standards
  • Helping serve residents
  • Train and mentor new employees
