The role of Sous Chef at Levy, offered at The Smith Center for Performing Arts in Las Vegas, NV, presents a unique opportunity to be a key contributor to Levy’s acclaimed culinary operations. The position offers a competitive annual salary of $70,000 and is designed for culinary professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional food experiences while overseeing kitchen operations at a high standard. As a Sous Chef, you will be instrumental in assisting with the overall success of the food program, managing culinary functions and supporting the culinary team in all phases of planning, ordering, inventory management, food preparation, and execution. This role demands strict adherence to health department regulations, client culture, and Levy’s rigorous standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation.
The Sous Chef is also a key leader, dedicated to motivating, training, and developing back-of-house associates to meet and exceed operational goals and customer expectations. You will work closely with the culinary and marketing teams to plan menus, create new culinary programs, and maintain cost controls, ensuring every element of the operation aligns with Levy’s vision for excellence. Job Requirements
- 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
- Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation
- Ability to set up and distribute production sheets
- Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills
- ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred
- Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred

- Assists in coordinating and participating in the preparation and cooking of various food items
- Assists with planning and creating menus
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team
