Job Requirements
- Diploma or certification in culinary arts or related field
- Minimum three years of relevant commercial cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
- Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work on-site at the Des Plaines, IL location
- Willingness to work full-time
- Ability to handle high-volume food production
- Commitment to maintaining food quality and safety
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or completion of apprenticeship or certification from a culinary school
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
- Ability to understand and apply financial controls such as managing food costs, stock levels, and minimizing waste
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Service-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
Job Duties
- Execute and supervise food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking food items
- Assume responsibilities of Executive Chef during absences including menu presentation to customers
- Supervise, coordinate, and control kitchen helpers in food storage and inventory management
- Conduct, coordinate, and supervise inventories while monitoring material consumption
- Order required food and equipment daily to meet the production plan
- Participate in the development of food products and menus
- Maintain and monitor hygiene, health, and safety standards ensuring adherence to HACCP regulations
