Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate preferred
  • Proven experience as a sous chef
  • Strong cooking skills with knowledge of various methods and ingredients
  • Experience in kitchen and staff management
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Ability to use computer software such as MS Office and POS systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef
  • Ability to execute various cooking methods, experience working with a variety of ingredients, equipment and cooking procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Familiar with industrys best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plus

Job Duties

  • Help in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus
  • Produce high quality plates in both design and taste
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules and assess staff performance
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and residents
