Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience under an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a restaurant setting
  • Minimum two year advanced degree or culinary training preferred
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • NYC Food Handler Certificate preferred
  • Working knowledge of state and local health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures according to state guidelines
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Demonstrate a wide range of culinary skills
  • Experience in senior culinary needs preferred

Job Duties

  • Act as primary contact between memory care floors and the main kitchen and culinary team
  • Coordinate and facilitate cooking-related activities for residents such as baking and smoothie making
  • Create a warm and inviting dining atmosphere ensuring top-notch culinary experience for memory care residents
  • Oversee front and back of house kitchen and dining room operations on memory care floors ensuring cleanliness and efficiency
  • Collaborate with Memory Care and Culinary leaders to meet company standards during mealtimes and culinary activities
  • Assist residents during meals and culinary experiences in kitchens and dining rooms
  • Assist with food flow from main kitchen to memory care dining areas
  • Ensure kitchens and dining rooms are fully stocked with necessary supplies
  • Liaise with main kitchen to order and replenish supplies avoiding culinary disruptions
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain stock levels
  • Set and clear tables before and after meals
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas including cleaning after meals
  • Record food temperatures and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Solicit feedback from residents and families about ambiance and make changes accordingly
  • Provide outstanding customer service to residents and visitors
  • Be flexible with work schedule to accommodate special events and evening/weekend programs
  • Assist with execution of special events
