Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum of three years restaurant or senior living cooking experience
- Current state-required sanitation certification or license
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend English
- Knowledge of food safety and health regulations
- Good communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to be available for emergencies
- Capacity to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing
- Adaptability to a changing work environment
Job Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
- Knowledge of menu presentation, food preparation, production, and food delivery systems
- Understanding of local Health Department, OSHA, and relevant regulatory agencies standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective inter-departmental communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of food preparation and line production communication among kitchen staff
- Willingness to be available for all community emergencies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
- High school diploma
- Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of three years restaurant or senior living cooking experience
- Current state-required sanitation certification or license (Safe Food Handling and/or Certified Food Manager) as per state requirements
Job Duties
- Maintain a level head under pressure and fully utilize staff to deliver quality food consistently
- Assign specific duties to all kitchen team members for efficient kitchen operation
- Ensure deliveries are properly received, dated, rotated, and stored correctly
- Supervise kitchen team members and enforce sanitation and safety standards
- Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of food according to standardized recipes
- Assist with setup, service, and cleanup of food production
- Assist with safety and training procedures related to foodservice equipment
- Communicate effectively with other departments and staff to ensure daily service success
- Conduct periodic food service evaluations for quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance and implement operational improvements
- Represent the community positively to create a warm marketing environment
- Support a culture that drives top-line revenue and occupancy through business decisions and employee engagement
- Adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Meet regularly with Executive Chef or Director of Culinary Creations
- Attend all requested in-service training workshops
- Act as a supportive team member of Culinary Services
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information
- Observe and comply with all community policies and procedures
- Accept and comply with assigned duties, instructions, and corrections professionally
- Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner
