Job Requirements

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees and guests
  • Listen, understand and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain regular attendance as required
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with InnVentures Hotel Standards and regulations
  • Work with other food and beverage managers and keep them informed of issues
  • Prepare and submit required reports timely
  • Understand and apply local health and safety regulations
  • Handle problems effectively including anticipating and solving issues
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Participate in management coverage as needed

Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of related progressive culinary experience or culinary graduate with at least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with health department rules and regulations
  • Understanding of liquor laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Experience conducting staff performance reviews
  • Ability to implement and monitor corporate promotions in food outlets

Job Duties

  • Ensure meals are prepared with quality, consistency, eye appeal, taste and food cost
  • Provide training for all kitchen staff
  • Meet corporate quality standards
  • Establish and enforce food specifications, portion control, recipes and sanitation standards
  • Control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction
  • Monitor quality of all food products and presentation
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
