Job Requirements

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
minimum of 4 years experience in food services industry
ServSafe Manager certification required
Mass Allergen Awareness certification required
valid driver's license
ability to pass DOT physical to drive box truck
CPR and AED/First Aid certified or willingness to attend training
knowledge of Worcester County Food Bank operations preferred
ability to pass CORI/Background check
compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 vaccination policy, with religious and medical exemptions considered

Job Qualifications

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
culinary arts certificate or related field preferred
minimum of 4 years of experience in the food services industry
ability and skill to cater to groups exceeding 300 people is a plus
CPR certified and AED/First Aid certified or willing to attend training
ServSafe Manager certification
Mass Allergen Awareness certification
knowledge of Worcester County Food Bank operations or prior experience with the organization
excellent communication, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
ability to successfully pass CORI/Background records check

Job Duties

Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of multiple kitchens
assists with maintaining kitchen appliances and calls vendors as needed
assists with monitoring the cafeteria and kitchen's daily duties
point of contact when the Food Services Manager is unavailable
assists with inventory and food donation management
performs and conducts proper maintenance of food storage areas, dating all food items in the storage room (FIFO)
enforces ServSafe food services health and safety guidelines and proper food handling and storage practices
complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
assists with overseeing volunteer coordination for food distribution, including the food donation volunteer book and volunteers serving meals at all sites
assists with catered food and special company events and staff meetings
responsible for food preparation according to a pre-planned menu
cooks, serves pre-planned meals, maintains record keeping, and supervises kitchen volunteers
assists with unpacking, labeling, storing, and rotating food and disposables
assists in the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitization of refrigeration/freezer units, steam tables, beverage dispensers, dining room tables, cupboards, shelves/racks, work surfaces, cooking equipment, dishes, utensils, appliances, and storage areas
reports appliance/equipment failures promptly
assists with periodic inventory checks and maintains records to comply with Veterans Inc., government, state, and local standards
point of contact for Worcester County Food Bank pick-ups and drop-offs
comfortable driving a box truck to and from food pick-ups
cooks as needed
