The role of Executive Sous Chef at Invited is an exciting opportunity for seasoned culinary professionals who aspire to play a vital part in the kitchen leadership team. The Executive Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of main, grill, and banquet kitchens, including ordering, scheduling, sanitation, maintenance, employee development, and conducting performance reviews. This role demands a high standard of culinary excellence and operational efficiency to ensure the preparation of dishes aligns with Invited's renowned quality standards. The Executive Sous Chef will take responsibility for controlling profit margins and labor costs while ensuring a superior dining experience for members and guests.
The position includes organizing and supporting service across all activities such as a la carte dining, employee meals, and private dining rooms. It involves maintaining consistent preparation and presentation standards, including portion control and product quality, adhering to Invited’s stringent guidelines. In addition to food quality oversight, the Executive Sous Chef is actively involved in training, supervising, and motivating kitchen staff to promote teamwork and uphold the established 3 Steps of Service, enhancing overall kitchen morale and efficiency.
Other key responsibilities include preparing kitchen work schedules, monitoring payroll costs and Kronos reports, and engaging in menu development for a la carte offerings, banquets, and any special requests by members or the Executive Chef. The Executive Sous Chef also plays a vital role in expediting meals, ensuring all dishes meet expectations for quality, portion, and presentation. Strong professional interaction with members and guests is essential, especially when accommodating special requests or last-minute changes, reflecting Invited’s commitment to exemplary customer service.
Candidates suitable for this role typically have 2-3 years of line cook experience, preferably complemented by formal culinary training and a valid Health Sanitation Card. The ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions is crucial given the fast-paced, indoor kitchen environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required to meet basic educational standards.

Job Duties
- Responsible for proper preparation, excellence of product, profit, and labor cost
- Organize and help in the service of all activities concerning a la carte, employee meals and private dining rooms
- Consistent preparation and presentation based on overall standards, including portion size, of daily special, salads, entrees, etc. as applicable per work assignment and as designated by Executive Chef which are produced within Invited quality standards guidelines
- To train, supervise, direct and/or performance manage employees when needed
- To enhance the overall knowledge and team spirit of the kitchen staff, providing the 3 Steps of Service
- Prepare work schedules for the kitchen crew, monitor payroll costs and Kronos reports as requested
- Menu development for the a la carte and banquet menus, and any other special request by a Member or the Executive Chef
- Responsible for the expediting at any meal period and ensuring proper quality, portioning, and presentation
- Must be able to interact with Members/Guests professionally, helping them with changes and last-minute requests as needed
