We are currently hiring a full-time Sous Chef for our Bellevue University location at 1000 Galvin Road South, Bellevue, NE. This position offers a Monday through Thursday work schedule from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, allowing the luxury of weekends off. The pay range for this role is between $21.00 and $23.00 per hour, reflecting competitive compensation within the industry. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods according to approved recipes and production standards. You will have the opportunity to take on supervisory responsibilities by coordinating activities of cooks and food service associates, including scheduling, training, and performance management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring food quality, safety, and sanitation, maintaining proper food handling, presentation, and serving procedures. Job Duties
- Help executive chef prepare and cook foods
- coordinate activities of cooks and other food-service associates
- assume responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in executive chef's absence
- cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
- supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and performance reviews
- store food in designated areas following all food safety and sanitation procedures
- ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures
- maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
- clean workstation thoroughly
- keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- interact with customers to resolve complaints
- explain daily menu items to associates and customers
- monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
- track product production, consumption, and waste
- inform supervisor when supplies are low
- perform other duties as assigned
