This specific role is for a Sous Chef position based at the Centurion Lounge of American Express at the Salt Lake City Airport. The role involves overseeing the Culinary Department’s daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in supervising the preparation and cooking of various food items while also contributing to menu development, preparation standards, and garnishment. The position includes responsibilities for supervising hourly associates, managing cost controls, and ordering supplies. Job Requirements

  • associate degree or equivalent experience
  • experience in culinary or kitchen management
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to supervise hourly associates
  • computer literacy including Microsoft Office and email
  • willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • some progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • catering experience is a plus
  • experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
  • knowledge of food and catering trends
  • computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable
