As an innovative team of hoteliers and restaurateurs, SHG is deeply committed to fostering a culture rooted in exceptional service and authenticity. The organization’s mission emphasizes hospitality, respect, and prioritizing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders, continuously aiming to make a positive impact in every aspect of its operations.
This commitment to service excellence is reflected in SHG’s dynamic and inclusive work environment. The company places significant emphasis on employee engagement, development, and empowerment, creating opportunities for career growth and advancement within a supportive and flexible atmosphere. The team is passionate about cultivating a workplace where individuals feel valued and motivated to contribute their best. Among the many perks SHG offers are its daily pay program, free telemedicine and virtual mental health care starting from day one, multiple health and life insurance options, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, paid time off, holiday pay, pet insurance, and an employee assistance program. Additionally, associates gain access to the Schulte Savings Marketplace, which provides discounts on event tickets, electronics, gym memberships, and more.
The role of Sous Chef at SHG is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and are passionate about exceeding guest expectations. The position requires overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety. Creative menu planning to accommodate guest preferences and managing food and labor costs within budget are vital responsibilities. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining proper inventory levels, and supervising the kitchen staff through hiring, coaching, and discipline. Acting as Manager on Duty when required, this role demands strong leadership skills, the ability to multitask, and a positive, professional demeanor in guest interactions.
Ideal candidates bring a minimum of two years’ culinary leadership experience, preferably supported by a bachelor’s degree and food safety certification. They must demonstrate teamwork, multitasking capabilities, and a drive to uplift the guest experience through excellence in culinary execution and staff management. SHG offers a rewarding, fun, and flexible work environment where the Sous Chef can grow their career while contributing to the broader success of a respected hospitality group committed to innovation, respect, and authentic service.
