With over 170 care sites in the Denver metro area, HCA HealthONE offers a wide range of services across the continuum of care to meet patients' total healthcare needs. This includes seven acute care hospitals, a flagship pediatric hospital (Rocky Mountain Children's), a rehabilitation hospital, urgent care clinics, mental health campuses, imaging and surgery centers, physician practices, home and hospice care, and AirLife Denver for critical care transportation. Presbyterian/St. Luke's (P/SL) hospital has been serving patients and their families for more than 140 years and is known for its award-winning cancer program, solid organ transplant services, and complex orthopedic care. The campus uniquely combines pediatric and adult care in one tertiary/quaternary hospital setting. HCA HealthONE is noted for its community involvement and charitable contributions, having contributed more than $1 million in donations and over $400 million in taxes last year alone. The organization has also been recognized multiple times as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute.
Joining HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke's as a Sous Chef means becoming part of a family of over 270,000 dedicated professionals. The organization invests significantly in employee development with programs backed by up to $300 million over three years. This role is a full-time opportunity offering an hourly wage range of approximately $19.88 to $27.84, depending on skills and experience. As a Sous Chef, you will oversee the daily food production operations across various food service areas, including patient food service, the physicians' dining room, cafeteria, and catering. You will ensure that food preparation, serving, and storage comply with HACCP and regulatory standards while maintaining high-quality, safety, and sanitation standards. Supervising kitchen staff and participating in their hiring, coaching, counseling, and development are key leadership duties of this role. You will also assist with menu development for multiple dining venues and aid in coordinating large catered events. A strong emphasis is placed on fostering positive patient interactions to support an unparalleled patient service experience. Additionally, the role requires monitoring employee attendance and managing overtime following facility procedures with tools like KRONOS.
HCA HealthONE offers comprehensive benefits focusing on health, life, career, and retirement support. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health, and telemedicine services, alongside wellbeing support such as free counseling. Paid time off programs, paid family leave, and disability coverage ensure employees have the balance they need. Retirement and savings resources like a 401(k) plan with employer matching, an employee stock purchase plan, and financial counseling help employees prepare for their futures. Education support is available through tuition and student loan assistance, certification support, and scholarships. Additional benefits covering family-building, adoption, life insurance, legal counseling, identity theft protection, and consumer discounts are also provided. This position requires a Food Service Manager’s Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire. The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or related fields, has 3-5 years of professional culinary leadership, and a strong knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, sanitation, production, and presentation. Interested candidates who wish to join a mission-driven community committed to high-quality patient service and employee support are encouraged to apply.
