As a Sous Chef, the individual will hold a crucial leadership position in kitchen operations, managing daily workflows while upholding the highest standards of food quality and safety. The role encompasses hands-on responsibilities such as inventory counting, supplier order placement, and the execution of private events, alongside leading a diverse kitchen team through high-volume service periods. The Sous Chef will work closely with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless operational flow and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • minimum 3 years leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • experience with inventory and ordering
  • knowledge of kitchen safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required
  • 3-4 years of leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • strong communication and team leadership skills
  • organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • experience with inventory systems and supplier ordering
  • event/catering experience preferred
  • proficient in kitchen operations, prep systems, and safety protocols
  • must be available nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Lead by example, manage line staff, prep cooks, and dish team to maintain performance and morale
  • train new team members and provide ongoing coaching to ensure consistency, speed, and compliance
  • oversee day-to-day BOH operations, ensuring kitchen efficiency, cleanliness, and team performance
  • ensure all dishes meet brand standards for quality, presentation, and timing
  • do weekly inventory counts, place supplier orders, and assist inventory management to reduce waste and control food cost
  • ensure proper execution of all FOH events including placing orders, prepping and maintaining quality standards during private and brand events
  • uphold strict adherence to health codes, sanitation practices, and safety procedures
  • work closely with FOH leadership and management to ensure smooth communication and service execution
