We are currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our team, a key individual who will assist the Executive Chef in managing restaurant and kitchen operations daily. This role involves supporting menu planning, overseeing inventory and supplies, ensuring top-quality food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen. The Sous Chef is essential to ensuring efficient shift operations through supervising culinary teams, managing production timelines, and stepping in to train or assist kitchen staff as needed during high demand periods. Job Requirements
- general education high school diploma or equivalent
- associate degree recommended
- culinary degree preferred
- knowledge of restaurant and banquet procedures
- understanding of sanitation and food safety
- effective decision-making skills
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to manage labor productivity
- knowledge of purchasing and inventory controls
- experience with financial management
- ability to train and lead staff
- knowledge of safety and regulatory standards
- ability to work under pressure and maintain cleanliness and quality
Job Qualifications

- culinary degree preferred
- understanding of restaurant, room service, bar/lounge and banquet procedures
- knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards

- knowledge of government regulations and safety standards including OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA
- experience with financial management, including P&L statements, budgets, forecasting and scheduling
Job Duties
- perform culinary and kitchen-related duties to train new associates and assist during busy periods
- supervise daily shift operations and oversee production and preparation of culinary items
- open and close kitchen shifts ensuring all duties are completed
- maintain food handling and sanitation standards
- coordinate with restaurant and banquet departments to time events and meals
- assist with menu development and promotions
- operate kitchen equipment and report malfunctions
- purchase supplies and manage inventory according to budget
- supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs and financial goals
- implement safety standards and develop cleaning schedules
- ensure associates have proper supplies and uniforms
- communicate maintenance needs to staff and follow up
- train associates in safety and emergency procedures
