The role available is for a Sous Chef to join the team within these Independent Living communities. As a Sous Chef, the individual will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef and leading the dietary or kitchen team. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen operations, assisting in food cost control, maintaining food safety and inventory practices, and ensuring compliance with all meal production and regulatory standards. The role demands a strong commitment to quality plate presentation, timely meal service management, and accurate record-keeping of food safety and equipment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role
- Current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent judgment, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to supervise and lead a dietary/kitchen team effectively.
Job Qualifications
- Two (2) years' Sous Chef experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Must maintain current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Associates Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Competent in organizational, time management skills
- Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work weekends, evening and flexible hours.
Job Duties
- Provide supervision to dietary/kitchen team and supporting the Executive Chef
- Assist in controlling food costs
- Assist in maintaining controls and security of all food items and supplies in storage
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing policies and procedures of all meal production, preparing and coordinating
- Assist in managing the meal service
- receiving, rotating and inventory of products and regulatory compliance
- ensuring correct portioning and plate presentation of all menu items
- Record and maintain Food Safety Equipment Records and Food Safety Temperature Records
- Perform and assist in the rotation (FIFO - First In First Out) inventory and security of such food and supplies in the correct storage area.
