North Italia is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join their culinary leadership team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $72,000 annually and is designed for individuals passionate about culinary excellence and dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences for guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will play a critical role in managing kitchen operations, leading culinary staff, and ensuring every dish meets the high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation. This role involves overseeing daily decision-making for shifts, managing scheduling and shift planning, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment, and supporting cost control measures to achieve financial targets.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment and who demonstrates a strong understanding of ingredients, culinary trends, and food preparation techniques. They will be comfortable managing labor expectations and budgets, using POS and inventory control systems, and leading their team in a positive, calm manner, even during busy periods. Additionally, the Sous Chef is expected to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement by providing clear and constructive feedback and taking corrective actions as necessary. This position requires standing for extended periods, handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, and working flexible hours, including closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two or more years of relevant culinary management experience
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- physical capability to stand, squat, sit, or walk for extended periods
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- dexterity to operate kitchen machinery and knives
- ability to work in varying kitchen conditions involving heat, steam, smoke, and confined spaces
- possession of hearing, visual, and sensory abilities necessary for food quality and safety
- strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain composure in high-pressure environments
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of high-volume culinary management experience
- demonstrated understanding of business operations and financials
- experience with POS and inventory control systems
