Job Description
Maple Hospitality Group stands at the forefront of the culinary world, a beacon of excellence and innovation in the restaurant industry. Under the visionary leadership of renowned restaurateur Jim Lasky and two-Michelin-starred Chef Danny Grant, the group has cultivated a reputation for creating iconic, unforgettable dining destinations. With locations spanning Chicago, Scottsdale, Dallas, Santa Barbara, Miami, and Boston, Maple Hospitality Group is not just expanding geographically but also expanding the horizons of culinary artistry and exceptional guest experiences. The company is deeply rooted in a culture that prioritizes generosity, excellence, fun, and a growth mindset that encourages learning from mistakes and continuous improvement. This culture fuels an environment where every team member is empowered and inspired to contribute their best work and grow professionally.
As a Sommelier and Server at Maple Hospitality Group, you will occupy a pivotal role that bridges the intricate world of fine wine with superior guest service and food knowledge. This position is a blend of dedicated sommelier responsibilities during designated shifts and high-caliber service as a captain or server during others. The role demands an individual who not only has an extensive appreciation and knowledge of wine but also possesses the culinary expertise and operational skills to manage a dynamic dining environment. You will be instrumental in guiding guests through an exceptional wine experience that complements the exquisite food offerings, crafting moments that linger in their memory long after the meal is finished.
Your sommelier shifts will engage you in both guest-facing and educational capacities. You will personally approach each table to offer expert wine recommendations, ensuring that the wine selected enhances the overall dining experience. Alongside this, you will play a crucial role in staff education, conducting pre-shift meetings, tastings, and training sessions to build a knowledgeable and confident front-of-house team. Ensuring service integrity and cellar accountability will also fall within your scope, guaranteeing that every bottle served is appropriately documented and handled with the utmost care.
On your captain or server shifts, you will switch gears to focus on managing a busy dining station, skillfully balancing efficiency with personalized service. Your ability to connect with guests, read their preferences, and deliver tailored dining experiences will set you apart in a high-pressure environment where attention to detail and teamwork are vital. Supporting your peers across front and back of house will be essential to maintaining the group's high standards and seamless service flow.
This is a role for those who cherish the craft of hospitality, possess a passion for wine and food, and thrive in a high-energy, detailed-oriented setting. Joining Maple Hospitality Group means becoming part of a network renowned for its exceptional service standards, culinary innovation, and a team-oriented culture that values growth, generosity, and fun. The position offers a unique career path enriched with opportunities for professional development, travel, and continuous learning within some of the most exciting cities in the U.S. If you are committed to excellence and eager to elevate your sommelier and service skills within a prestigious hospitality group, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.
