Job Description
Maple Hospitality Group is a prestigious hospitality company led by renowned restaurateur Jim Lasky and two-Michelin-starred Chef Danny Grant. Known for their innovative approach to fine dining, this group is creating iconic dining destinations that combine culinary excellence with unparalleled service. With locations expanding across major cities such as Chicago, Scottsdale, Dallas, Santa Barbara, Miami, and Boston, Maple Hospitality Group provides an environment rich in opportunity for personal and professional growth, travel, and continuing education. The company culture is grounded in four core principles: generosity, excellence, fun, and learning from mistakes quickly to drive continuous improvement and success.
As part of its team, Maple Hospitality Group is seeking passionate food lovers dedicated to creating unforgettable dining experiences. The role of Sommelier and Captain/Server is vital to the success of their wine programs and overall guest satisfaction. The Sommelier bridges service and education by guiding guests to the perfect wine selections that complement their dining experience, regardless of price. They also play a key role in educating the Front of House staff through tastings, quizzes, and ongoing communication to ensure product knowledge is exceptional. Alongside cellar management duties, Sommeliers maintain service integrity by ensuring accurate wine inventory, flawless service, and supporting floor operations such as clearing tables and managing guest recovery.
In addition to Sommelier shifts, this position includes Captain/Server shifts where the individual takes full ownership of the guest's dining experience within their assigned station. Effective management of high-volume tables, personality-driven service tailored to guests' preferences, and strong communication and teamwork with both Front and Back of House colleagues are fundamental aspects of this role. Universal responsibilities for all shifts include punctuality, adherence to uniform and hygiene standards, completing opening and closing side work promptly, and building authentic relationships with guests that encourage repeat visits.
This full-time role demands a minimum of three years of high-volume fine-dining experience, extensive culinary and above-average wine knowledge, and a commitment to becoming a certified sommelier within one year of joining the team. Candidates must exhibit excellent time management, multitasking skills, and a mastery of detail, complemented by a high degree of professionalism, strong people skills, and genuine passion for guest service. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who thrive in a dynamic, high-caliber hospitality environment and are eager to grow within a nationally recognized group dedicated to culinary excellence and world-class hospitality.
