La Grande Boucherie, located in Washington DC, is an exciting new addition to The Group Hospitality's esteemed collection of restaurants. Known for its authentic French brasserie and steakhouse experience, La Grande Boucherie combines traditional French culinary arts with a vibrant atmosphere unique to its Washington DC neighborhood. We are currently seeking an experienced Sommelier to join our team at La Grande Boucherie. This role calls for someone who is not only deeply passionate about wine but also brings a warm, hospitable, and high-spirited energy to the dining experience. The ideal candidate will have fine-dining experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that every guest receives outstanding service and thoughtful wine pairings. The Sommelier will be responsible for maintaining an exquisite wine list, guiding guests in their selections, and ensuring seamless communication between the front-of-house and kitchen teams. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a sommelier or wine service role
  • Familiarity with wine storage and cellar management
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a sommelier in fine dining
  • Strong knowledge of wine regions, grape varieties, and wine production
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
