As part of the Tavistock Restaurant Collection, Abe & Louie's upholds a tradition of excellence in food quality and customer service, making it a landmark destination for steak lovers and food enthusiasts alike.

The role of Sommelier at Abe & Louie's Boston is crucial in enhancing the overall dining experience by expertly managing the wine program. The restaurant's extensive wine list is carefully curated to complement its award-winning menu, requiring a professional with a keen sense of wine selection and food pairing. The Sommelier will be responsible for creating and updating the wine list in collaboration with the executive chef and Food and Beverage Manager, ensuring that each wine choice accentuates the flavors of the menu items. This position is vital not only for maintaining the restaurant's high standards but also for providing guests with personalized wine recommendations based on their preferences and meal choices.

Candidates for this position should possess a deep knowledge of various wine varieties, the winemaking process, and effective wine service techniques. The Sommelier will manage the wine cellar, guarantee proper storage and presentation of wines, and train the wait staff to enhance their wine knowledge. Additionally, the Sommelier will engage with wine vendors to negotiate prices and curate offerings that best fit the restaurant’s clientele and style.

Working at Abe & Louie's Boston offers a competitive pay rate of up to $22 per hour plus commission on wine sales, along with opportunities for professional growth within the Tavistock Restaurant Collection. The position also provides mentorship and training from seasoned culinary and hospitality professionals committed to career development. This role is ideally suited for a wine enthusiast who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is passionate about delivering memorable service through expert wine curation and education.

The Sommelier must be available to work during business hours and uphold all health and safety regulations, including verifying guests' legal drinking age. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for every patron.
